ABOUT

Founded in 1958, the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club (SFBACC) is the oldest arena ice club in the fastest-growing region in the country and has been recognized as a national leader in training new curlers and expanding the sport across a diverse population. In the past eight years alone, it has quadrupled its membership, performed strongly in both regional and national competitions, developed innovative community outreach initiatives, and launched the first Junior curling program in California. It is poised to continue expanding these programs — but is quickly running out of available ice.

Averaging over 200 members, the SFBACC is the largest arena-based curling club in the USA. We've historically run as many as five leagues a week while hosting frequent learn-to-curl events for adults and youth, lesson series, corporate events, the annual Golden Gate Bonspiel tournament, and multiple community events.

Our current members come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, ranging in age from the teens into their 80s and work and reside throughout the Bay Area and surrounding communities. Among the most urban and ethnically diverse clubs in the country, the SFBACC has taken leadership role in actively promoting diversity within the sport. It was the first curling club to march in a pride parade, and it fosters socio-economic diversity through its scholarships for local youth.
